Bill 14, also known as An Act to Empower Utility Consumers, came into effect in the province of Alberta back on December 1, 2018.
This legislation broadened the scope of Alberta Energy Providers to also encompass water, sewage, and drainage services. Alberta Energy Providers now plays a crucial role in protecting water consumers by:
- Providing Mediation Services – We help Albertans address and resolve issues with their water utility providers through dedicated mediation services. This support is crucial for consumers facing challenges or disputes with their service providers.
- Educating Consumers – We actively educate consumers about water utilities. This is achieved through its website, a consumer contact center, and participation in trade shows and community events. These efforts aim to enhance consumer knowledge and understanding of water utilities.
If you’re experiencing unresolved disputes with your water utility company or have questions about your water bill, our Mediation Team is here to help. They offer the necessary guidance and support to help you navigate and resolve these issues.
